A Special Message of Red Door CEO & Founder

My name is Chandra Holden, Executive Board Member for Barbara Jordan Endeavors Historical Diverse Kick Off 5K Walk/Run & Roll.  I am asking you to consider a donation for our event scheduled for Saturday – October 12, 2013 to support students with “Unique Abilities” so that they may have a chance to attend college, get a rewarding job and live a barrier-free life.

Barbara Jordan Ambassadors Program (BJE) is entering its 13th year and the overall success of this event will be credited largely to our sponsors who lend their names and financial support to our Historical Diverse 5K Walk/Run & Roll events.

Barbara Jordan Endeavors is a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit organization that provides scholarships and services for students thriving with “Unique Abilities”. The organization is committed to encouraging, empowering and equipping young people to achieve their maximum potential and to reach their goals.  The organization provides a monthly workshop at different high schools through-out the Houston area to educate students and their parents on valuable community resources.

On December 1, 2011, Channel 13 Eyewitness news presented a media release story on the Barbara Jordan Endeavors for our dedicated volunteer work.Click on the video to the right to watch it.

On May 7, 2012 Barbara Jordan Endeavors Corporation,

Founder Thelma Scott and their nominee Community

Outreach Partner Launch Point CDC, Ivory Mayhorn,

Founder & CEO were nominated for the White House

Champion of Change STEM Award for People with

Disabilities.  Both Barbara Jordan Endeavors Corporation

and their nominee Launch Point, CDC were the only two

non-profit organizations "in Texas invited to attend" this

important and prestigious event in our nation’s capital

Washington D.C.

We are asking you to assist our organization to help more

deserving young people living with “unique abilities” like

our Board Chair,  Troy Myree  who followed his dreams of

pursuing a college degree and Never Gave Up,

No Matter What!

Sincerely,

Chandra Holden, Executive Board Member
