Ms. Chandra's Story

Mrs. Chandra Holden, owner and founder of Red Door Learning Montessori and the

Children's Red Door Learning Academy, is the mother of triplets, two boys and a

girl and while this is already a feat in itself, her precious children were also

diagnosed with ADHD as children.

These are the three children seen running and playing in the Red Door Learning

Montessori's logo.  The design tells the story of how Mrs. Holden, determined to

overcome the adversities associated with the prognosis of the “disabled learner,”

took it upon herself to get educated about ADHD and what it meant for her children.

She didn’t stop there; it wasn’t just about obtaining knowledge and understanding,

but sharing it as well. Mrs. Holden began sharing her findings with her children’s

teachers. Countless times, as she heard teachers, caregivers, and sitters say “your

children are bad” she would explain to them that her children “were smart with high

energy.” This eagerness to take care of her children and to remove the barriers that

society wanted to place around them grew into a passion to promote love,

acceptance, and understanding for children with unique abilities.

Today, Mrs. Holden’s triplets are now 26 years old and each of them are living

productive lives, raising their own families, and growing in strength and

understanding.  Considering all that she has learned with her own children, and

the time and effort she has taken into researching learning challenges and

disabilities, Mrs. Holden knows the potential that every child possess when given the opportunity to shine bright. This is the

vision she had when founding our organization.

Today, the RDLM is staffed with a qualified and dedicated team, who share Ms. Holden’s wholehearted belief in tapping into the potential of every student who enters their doors.  Together, in partnership with parents and caregivers, the RDLM team works to contribute habitual learning strategies to assist in conquering and defeating the normality prognosis of the “disabled learner”.
