Five Activities to Do at Home During Spring Break

Spring Break is just around the corner and we are super excited to

see our school-age Red Door kids for more time each day as they

are out of school.  That being said, we know there are a lot of kids

who plan on spending spring break at home. Here are some fun

activities to do during the spring break that will keep your children

off the couch and away from the television screen. These are great

to-do’s that will make lots of memories with your children that can

last them a life time!

1. Have a dance party

It’s time to crank up the music and dance your heart out with your

kids!  It’s a great form of exercise and we are sure you have some

cool moves to show off.  Want to make it even more fun? Invite a

few of your kid's friends over, lay out some snacks and have a blast.

2. Start the gardening
Gardening can be soothing and therapeutic for many adults and its

just plan fun for kids.  It doesn’t have to be a lot, something simple

and sweet.  The kids will appreciate the chance to play in the dirt and

enjoy the weather and you’ll enjoy watching their excitement. It’s a

great opportunity to teach your children about the earth and the importance of protecting it.

3. Get in the kitchen
Kids love to get in the kitchen and help cook, so let them! Not only will they be more apt to try what you make together, but they also can learn valuable life lessons about feeding themselves. Fun snacks or even a big dinner, they will love the time with you.

4. Scavenger hunt
Who wouldn’t love a fun scavenger hunt! Whether indoors or out, your kids will have  a great time while they race to find all the items. Make a list of things for your kids to find and set them to find them all. Have a few small prizes for when they finish to make it extra special.

5. Have an art show
Do your kids love to draw, paint and create? Then plan a spring break art show. Give your kids all the supplies they need to make collages, paintings or sculptures and set them to work. At the end of the week, invite friends and family over to view their creations.

These are just a handful of ideas for a spring break stay-cation.  Regardless of your plans, Red Door Learning Montessori wishes you a wonderful and safe time with your family!
